In Ghaziabad, a 35-year-old man was arrested on Sunday following the death of a 70-year-old woman in Madhuban Bapudham during a dispute with her son. The man, identified as Majid and a resident of the same area, reportedly got into an argument with the deceased's son, Bijendra Kumar. During the altercation, Majid allegedly pushed Ramvati Devi, the woman, causing her to fall and sustain fatal injuries. Abhishek Srivastava, ACP of Kavi Nagar, stated that the incident occurred around 12.30 am when Majid, an e-rickshaw driver, who appeared to be intoxicated, was sitting outside the Kumar residence. Ramvati tried to mediate the situation but was tragically injured. Despite being rushed to the hospital, she succumbed to her injuries. The police have initiated an investigation, filed an FIR at Madhuban Bapudham police station, and charged Majid under various sections of the law. The accused has been put into judicial custody following a court appearance.
